Voted one of the Top 100 Afrohouse Artists by Traxsource and working in the dance music industry for 30 years, Adam Gibbons is known globally for his energetic sets that explore the intersection of Afro-Latin rhythms and house music. Adam has played multiple styles of dance music over the years, and his talents have taken him to share his love of music globally. From sunrise at Burning Man, to sunset boat parties on the Adriatic Sea, it is apparent that he lives for what he does. In 2004, he started focusing on a more organic Afro-Latin sound. In 2008, he launched the dance party ‘Uhuru Afrika’ to create a space to explore this sound that, years later, has become known as ‘Afro House’, and for which he is recognized as a pioneer. Over the years, Gibbons has opened for, or shared the stage with heavyweight artists like Bebel Gilberto, Bill Laswell, Shiela E, Femi Kuti, Oumou Sangaré, Tony Allen, Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, Antibalas, Roy Ayers, De La Soul, Jazzanova, Black Coffee, Pablo Fierro, Thievery Corporation, King Britt, Rich Medina, Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega, Ron Trent, Osunlade, Nickodemus, and many more. Adam started producing music in 2014 and has since released original work and remixes on Open Bar Music, MoBlack Records and Offering Records and Uncover Music. So far, each of his releases have made it into the Traxsource top 100 charts for the Afro House category Including one single spending 2 weeks in the Top 10. Subsequently, they named him on their list of the top 100 Afro House artists globally. His previous project, a monthly party called Soul Revival, was at one point, the longest running dance event in Boston and gained international recognition. Rolling Stone magazine named his event Soul Revival as one of the ten best parties in America and wrote, "For the past ten years, spiritual-minded partiers have gathered every Saturday of the full moon at Villa Victoria, a former church, for this throwdown." URB Magazine, referred to it as one of the hottest parties in the nation for house music, and said that the party was "a direct link to the days of the Paradise Garage." In tandem, Adam also produced the ‘Celebrate Life’ party from 1999 – 2001. A weekly house music event which hosted Kerri Chandler, Louie Vega, Joe Claussell, François K, Phil Asher, Jesper Dhalback, Danny Krivit, Alton Miller and many more.
